COACHING

“Coaching helps others to think through, plan and overcome the barriers and hurdles that often prevent us as humans at achieving what we aspire to do”.
– Jonathan Passmore

The coaching sessions

Coaching takes place in sessions. A session ensures a quality, quiet space, with no distractions and sets the scene for both the coach and the client to connect and collaborate for an agreed purpose. In a session the coachee brings the authenticity and expertise of their career and life while the coach remains the expert of the tools and the process.

What is career coaching?

Career coaching is a series of collaborative conversations with a trained professional who operates within an ethical code. The process is grounded in evidence-based coaching approaches, incorporating theories and tools, and career theory and aims to lead to a positive outcome for the client regarding their career decision, work and/or personal fulfilment. (Yates, 2014)

EVIDENCE-BASED COACHING

Evidence based coaching is about leveraging the available academic research on Positive and Coaching Psychology during the sessions.
It’s a scientifically proven practice where the coach uses valid, reliable and relevant information to form the flow of the session and facilitate change for the client.
The evidence-based coach makes real-time decisions in favor of the coachee regarding the techniques, models and tools he applies, by calculating his own mindset and theoretical framework, his clients verbal and non-verbal communication, and the ethical code he abides by.

PROVEN COACHING FORMULA

1. Awareness

During your first coaching sessions you start recognising your behavioural patterns and how they served you so far. We work so that you recognize your values and get clarity on your goals. You start visualizing your future. Then you re-process your goals from a higher point of self-awareness.

2. Preparation

The second cycle starts when you start committing to your goals. We go through your options, we construct new ways of moving you towards your goal. You will start forming your direction along with your first actions towards your career change or your desired outcome.

3. Execution

The cycle of the important actions. Everything that we have strategically planned on the previous sessions is now happening. It's an opportunity for evaluation on what's working and what isn't. We might make some adjustments to tackle new challenges that arise.

4. Maintenance

In the final cycle of a coaching contract you learn how to adapt to your new reality and you build strategies to sustain the change overtime. You develop an understanding of the goal-setting process and you are able to describe how coaching has helped you. We are ready for a farewell.
